How to Create an Infographic From a Blog Post With AI: Step-by-Step WordPress Tutorial

Have you ever looked at one of your existing WordPress articles and wondered how you could turn all that useful information into something more visual? In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to create an infographic from a blog post with AI and turn content you’ve already written into an entirely new content asset.

This is one of the things I find most interesting about using AI for content creation. You don’t always have to start with a blank page or come up with a brand-new idea. If you’ve been blogging for months or years, you may already have dozens or even hundreds of articles containing information that can be repurposed.

A blog post containing five tips could become an infographic. A step-by-step tutorial could become a visual guide. An article containing statistics could become a data-focused graphic. A list of benefits could become an easy-to-understand visual summary.

And with AI, creating that infographic can be considerably easier than manually designing everything from scratch.

Watch Me Turn a Blog Post Into an Infographic With AI

In the video below, I demonstrate the process and show you how I take content from an existing WordPress blog post and turn it into an infographic using AI.

The AI Infographic Generator I’m demonstrating in the video is a feature I developed inside My Content Creator Pro Elite. I wanted a way to take information I was already creating in WordPress and quickly turn it into visual content without having to build every infographic manually.

What Does It Mean to Turn a Blog Post Into an Infographic?

A detailed blog post and an infographic accomplish different things.

A blog article gives you room to explain a subject in depth. You can answer questions, provide examples, explain individual steps, discuss advantages and disadvantages, and give readers enough information to understand the topic.

An infographic takes some of the most important information from that article and presents it visually.

For example, imagine you’ve written a 2,500-word article called “7 Healthy Habits to Improve Your Day.” The article might contain several paragraphs explaining each habit.

Your infographic doesn’t need all 2,500 words.

Instead, it could visually present the seven primary habits using short descriptions, numbers, icons, illustrations, and an organized layout. Someone could look at the infographic and quickly understand the major ideas while the full article remains available for readers who want more detail.

That’s an important distinction. The goal isn’t necessarily to replace your blog article. The infographic can complement the article and give your audience another way to consume the information.

Why Use AI to Create an Infographic From a Blog Post?

Creating an infographic manually can involve a surprising amount of work.

You first have to decide which information to include. Then you may need to choose a template, create a layout, find graphics, select fonts, pick colors, position individual elements, and repeatedly adjust everything until the design looks right.

If you’re comfortable with graphic design, that may not be a problem. But for a blogger or website owner trying to publish content consistently, it can become another time-consuming part of the content creation process.

An AI infographic generator can help simplify that workflow.

You already have the information. AI can help you transform that information into a different format.

Get More Value From Content You’ve Already Created

This may be the biggest benefit.

Think about the amount of time you’ve invested in your existing website.

You researched topics, wrote articles, created headings, organized ideas, optimized pages, and published everything. That content doesn’t have to serve only one purpose.

An existing blog post can become the foundation for additional content.

You can take its main ideas and create an infographic. You could then take those same ideas and create social media posts, images, a Pinterest graphic, a video, or another useful resource.

Instead of constantly asking yourself what you’re going to create next, you can sometimes look at what you’ve already created and ask a different question:

What else can I do with this information?

Make Complicated Information More Visual

Some topics naturally benefit from visual presentation.

A step-by-step process can become a flowchart. Statistics can become charts. A list of tips can become numbered visual sections. A comparison can become a side-by-side design.

The written article provides depth, while the infographic provides a visual overview.

That combination can be particularly useful when you’re explaining a topic that contains multiple steps or concepts.

Create Additional Content Without Starting Over

Content creation doesn’t always need to mean starting from zero.

If your original article already contains useful information, the research and organization have largely been completed. You’re repurposing those ideas instead of researching an entirely different subject.

That’s why I see AI infographic generation as part of a broader content repurposing strategy rather than simply another image-generation tool.

How to Create an Infographic From a Blog Post With AI

Now let’s walk through the process you can use to transform an existing article into an infographic.

Step 1: Choose the Right Blog Post

Start with an article that contains information that can be communicated visually.

Some types of blog posts are naturally better suited for infographics than others.

Good candidates include:

  • Numbered lists
  • How-to tutorials
  • Step-by-step processes
  • Tips and recommendations
  • Statistics and data
  • Product or service comparisons
  • Benefits and disadvantages
  • Timelines
  • Checklists
  • Educational guides

For example, an article titled “10 Ways to Improve Your WordPress SEO” already has a natural infographic structure. Each of the ten recommendations can become an individual visual section.

An article called “How to Start a WordPress Website in 7 Steps” could become a visual process that takes someone from registering a domain through publishing their first page.

You don’t have to force every article into an infographic. Choose subjects where visual presentation actually makes sense.

Step 2: Identify the Most Important Information

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is trying to squeeze your entire blog post into one infographic.

If your original article contains 2,500 words, you probably don’t want 2,500 words of tiny text inside an image.

Instead, identify the central ideas.

Ask yourself: If someone only had 30 seconds to understand this article, what are the most important things I would want that person to remember?

Those ideas should form the foundation of your infographic.

If the article contains seven tips, you may want all seven tips represented. But each one can usually be summarized in a concise heading and short supporting statement.

The full article can continue providing the detailed explanation.

Step 3: Make Sure Your Original Information Is Accurate

Before repurposing an article, review it.

This is especially important when you’re working with an older blog post.

Has anything changed since you originally published it? Are the statistics current? Are the recommendations still accurate? Do any links or references need updating?

Creating an infographic from outdated information simply gives outdated information a new appearance.

Use the repurposing process as an opportunity to check your original content.

Step 4: Use an AI Infographic Generator

Once you’ve chosen the article and identified its important information, you can provide that information to an AI infographic generator.

In my case, I use the AI Infographic Generator I developed inside My Content Creator Pro Elite.

Because I’m already working inside WordPress, I wanted the infographic workflow to fit naturally into the content creation process rather than requiring me to constantly jump between unrelated platforms.

The idea is straightforward:

BLOG POST → IMPORTANT INFORMATION → AI → INFOGRAPHIC

You’re starting with content you’ve already created and using AI to help transform it into a visual format.

Step 5: Generate Your Infographic

After you’ve supplied the information, the AI can generate the visual content.

Depending on the subject, the finished infographic may use numbered sections, illustrations, icons, headings, charts, or other visual elements to communicate the information.

This is where the process becomes interesting because information that previously existed as paragraphs can suddenly be viewed as a complete visual resource.

However, generation isn’t the final step.

Step 6: Carefully Review the AI-Generated Infographic

Always review AI-generated content before publishing it.

Check the spelling. Read the text. Verify any numbers. Make sure illustrations correspond to the correct sections. Look for duplicated information or anything that doesn’t make sense.

If your infographic contains statistics, financial information, health information, technical specifications, or other factual claims, verify those details against reliable sources.

AI can help with content creation, but the website owner still needs to be the final reviewer.

I also recommend viewing the infographic at different sizes.

Something that looks fantastic when it’s filling your computer monitor may contain text that’s too small when displayed inside a WordPress article on a phone.

Step 7: Add the Infographic to Your WordPress Blog Post

Once you’re satisfied with the result, you can add the infographic to your article.

Where should you put it?

That depends on the article.

If the infographic summarizes the entire post, placing it relatively high on the page may make sense. If it summarizes one particular section, position it near that section.

The important thing is that the placement feels useful rather than random.

You should also use a descriptive image filename and appropriate alt text.

For example, instead of uploading an image called image-12345.webp, you might use:

how-to-create-infographic-from-blog-post-ai.webp

Your alt text should accurately describe what appears in the image. Don’t simply stuff keywords into the alt attribute.

How to Choose Blog Content That Makes a Good Infographic

Once you start looking at your existing articles from a repurposing perspective, you’ll probably begin noticing infographic opportunities everywhere.

List Posts

List posts are one of the easiest formats to convert.

If you’ve written “7 Ways to Speed Up WordPress,” the structure already exists. Each recommendation can become a visual section.

How-To Articles

Step-by-step tutorials can become visual roadmaps.

For example:

Choose a domain → Get hosting → Install WordPress → Choose a theme → Add plugins → Create content → Launch

The infographic can show the overall journey while your article explains every step in detail.

Statistics and Data

Data can be highly visual, but accuracy becomes especially important.

Charts and statistics should accurately represent the underlying information. Always verify the original numbers and make sure the graphic doesn’t accidentally distort what the data means.

Comparisons

If your article compares two approaches, tools, products, or strategies, an infographic can help readers see important differences quickly.

A side-by-side design may be more immediately understandable than several paragraphs of comparison.

Educational Content

Educational articles often contain definitions, concepts, categories, and relationships that can benefit from illustrations.

The infographic becomes a visual learning aid rather than merely a decorative image.

Use AI Infographics as Part of a Content Repurposing Strategy

This is where I think the concept becomes much more powerful.

Don’t think only about creating one infographic.

Think about the lifecycle of one piece of content.

You could begin with a detailed WordPress article.

That article could become an infographic.

The article could also become several social media posts.

The infographic could be adapted for Pinterest.

The article could inspire a YouTube video.

The YouTube video could be embedded back into the article.

Now your original idea isn’t simply a blog post anymore. It’s the foundation of a collection of related content.

I’ve demonstrated another part of this workflow in my guide on how to turn a WordPress blog post into social media posts with AI.

You can also see another infographic workflow in my tutorial on how to turn a WordPress blog post into an infographic with AI.

And if you want to see how the process works when starting with ordinary text, read my guide to using an AI infographic generator from text in WordPress.

These are closely related workflows, but each starts with a slightly different content goal.

Can Infographics Help Your WordPress SEO?

An infographic isn’t a magic SEO trick, and simply placing one on a page doesn’t guarantee higher Google rankings.

That’s not how I recommend thinking about it.

The better question is whether the infographic makes the page more useful.

If a visitor lands on a detailed tutorial and the infographic helps that person quickly understand the process, then the visual is serving a real purpose.

There are also several practical image optimization steps you can follow.

Use a Descriptive Filename

Give the infographic a filename that describes the actual image rather than using a meaningless string of numbers.

Use Accurate Alt Text

Alt text should communicate what the image contains. This is important for accessibility and gives search engines additional context about the image.

Optimize the File Size

Infographics can be large images, particularly when they’re long or contain many visual elements.

Compress the image appropriately and consider efficient formats such as WebP when suitable. You want to maintain readability without unnecessarily slowing down the page.

Surround the Image With Relevant Content

Don’t publish an infographic on a page with almost no explanation and assume the image will do everything.

Provide useful written content around it. Explain the subject, answer relevant questions, and give readers context.

The infographic should enhance the article rather than substitute for a useful page.

Common AI Infographic Mistakes to Avoid

AI makes the process faster, but speed shouldn’t come at the expense of quality.

Putting Too Much Text Into the Infographic

The infographic should be visual. If you’ve simply placed the entire blog post inside an enormous image, you’ve probably lost the primary benefit of the format.

Summarize. Prioritize. Let the original article provide the details.

Publishing Without Checking the Information

This is one of the most important mistakes to avoid.

Review every AI-generated infographic before it goes live. AI can make mistakes, and those mistakes become your responsibility once they’re published on your website.

Using Visuals That Don’t Match the Content

An infographic about WordPress security should contain visuals related to websites, protection, passwords, backups, or security—not random imagery that happens to look attractive.

Visual relevance matters.

Ignoring Mobile Visitors

Your infographic may look beautiful on a 27-inch monitor but become nearly unreadable on a smartphone.

Check it on smaller screens. Make sure the main headings and important information remain understandable.

Creating an Infographic Just Because You Can

Not every article needs one.

Use infographics where they add genuine value. A simple article answering one straightforward question may not benefit from a complicated visual.

The format should fit the information.

Frequently Asked Questions About Creating Infographics From Blog Posts With AI

Can AI turn a blog post into an infographic?

Yes. AI tools can help transform information from a blog article into a visual infographic. The best results generally come from identifying the article’s most important points rather than attempting to place every word from the original post into the graphic.

Do I need graphic design experience?

No. AI-assisted infographic tools can reduce the amount of manual design work required. However, you should still review the finished design for readability, accuracy, organization, and overall quality.

Can I create an infographic directly inside WordPress?

Yes. I’m demonstrating this workflow using the AI Infographic Generator I developed inside My Content Creator Pro Elite, allowing me to incorporate infographic creation into my WordPress content workflow.

What types of blog posts work best?

List articles, tutorials, checklists, comparisons, statistics, timelines, educational guides, and step-by-step processes are often strong candidates because their information can naturally be divided into visual sections.

Should the infographic contain the entire blog article?

Usually not. An infographic works best when it summarizes important information visually. Keep the detailed explanations in the original article and use the infographic to highlight key points.

Can I add the infographic back to my original blog post?

Yes. That’s one of the main reasons to create it. You can add the infographic to the existing article to provide readers with a visual summary of the information.

Can I repurpose older blog posts?

Absolutely. Older articles may provide excellent infographic opportunities. Review and update the article first so you don’t accidentally turn outdated information into a new visual asset.

Will an infographic automatically improve my Google rankings?

No. There is no guarantee that adding an infographic will improve rankings. Focus on whether the visual genuinely improves the page and helps visitors understand the subject.

Final Thoughts on Creating an Infographic From a Blog Post With AI

Learning how to create an infographic from a blog post with AI changes the way you can look at your existing WordPress content.

An article doesn’t necessarily have to be the final version of an idea.

It can be the starting point.

A detailed article can become an infographic. That infographic can become part of a social media strategy. The same topic can become a YouTube video. The video can then be embedded into the article, giving visitors another way to learn.

That’s how one idea can gradually develop into a collection of useful, interconnected content.

AI can help make parts of that process faster, but quality control still matters. Review the information, verify important facts, make sure the finished design is readable, and ask whether the infographic genuinely helps your audience.

That’s the standard I recommend using with any AI-generated content.

Don’t create something merely because AI makes it possible.

Create it because it adds value.
