How to Turn a WordPress Blog Post Into an Instagram Post With AI: Step-by-Step Tutorial
Want to turn a WordPress blog post into an Instagram post with AI? The basic process is simple. Start with an existing WordPress article, identify the most useful or interesting information inside it, use AI to adapt that information into social media content, review and personalize the result, and then use it as the foundation for your Instagram post.
Instead of creating every Instagram post from scratch, you can take information you’ve already researched and published and give it an entirely new purpose.
That’s exactly what I’m going to show you in this tutorial.
I’m Chad Portnova, Owner and Developer of My Content Creator Pro Elite. One of the reasons I developed the AI Social Content Generator inside the plugin was because I wanted an easier way to get more value from content I’d already created on my WordPress websites.
Think about how much work goes into publishing a good blog post.
You research the subject.
You organize the information.
You write the article.
You add images.
You optimize the content.
Then you finally hit publish.
But that doesn’t mean the useful life of that information has to end there.
A WordPress article can become the starting point for additional content on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and other platforms.
That’s where AI content repurposing becomes especially useful.

What Does It Mean to Turn a Blog Post Into an Instagram Post?
Turning a blog post into an Instagram post means taking useful information from a longer article and adapting it into a format that makes more sense for Instagram.
That doesn’t mean copying a 2,500-word article and pasting the entire thing into an Instagram caption.
Instead, you identify a useful idea, tip, lesson, question, list, or takeaway from the article and transform it into something easier to consume on social media.
For example, imagine you published a WordPress article titled:
10 Ways to Improve Your WordPress Website
That article could contain information about website speed, SEO, security, internal linking, images, mobile optimization, and content quality.
You probably wouldn’t try to squeeze the entire article into one Instagram post.
Instead, you might take one idea such as image optimization and build an Instagram post around that subject.
You could open with something like:
“One thing that could be slowing down your WordPress website might be hiding inside your Media Library.”
Then explain the problem in a few short paragraphs and provide a useful tip.
That gives your Instagram audience a focused piece of information without overwhelming them.
That’s the idea behind content repurposing: the original information stays useful, but the presentation changes for a different platform and audience.
Why Turn WordPress Blog Posts Into Instagram Content?
If you’ve been blogging for a while, you may already have far more Instagram content ideas than you realize.
Your WordPress website might contain dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of articles.
Each of those articles may contain individual ideas that could become separate pieces of social media content.
Get More Value From Content You’ve Already Created
This is one of the biggest advantages.
You already spent time creating the information.
Instead of using an article only once, you can find additional ways to share the information.
A 2,000-word article might contain ten different tips.
Rather than trying to turn all ten tips into one Instagram post, you could create several separate posts focusing on the best ideas individually.
That gives one original article a much longer useful life.
Spend Less Time Staring at a Blank Screen
One of the hardest parts of social media content creation can simply be deciding what to talk about.
You’ve probably had moments when you’ve opened Facebook, Instagram, or another platform and thought:
“What am I supposed to post today?”
When you use existing WordPress articles as your starting point, you’re no longer beginning with a blank screen.
You already have the subject.
You already have the research.
You already have the information.
Your job is simply to decide which part of that information makes sense for Instagram.
Create a More Consistent Content Workflow
Repurposing content can also help you build a more repeatable process.
Instead of treating blogging and social media as completely separate activities, they can become connected.
You publish the original WordPress article.
Then you look at that article and ask:
What could become a Facebook post?
What could become an Instagram post?
Could part of this become a Pinterest infographic?
Would this make a useful YouTube tutorial?
Now one original piece of content becomes the foundation for several different marketing assets.
How to Turn a WordPress Blog Post Into an Instagram Post With AI
Let’s walk through the process step by step.
Step 1: Choose a WordPress Blog Post to Repurpose
Start by selecting one of your existing articles.
You don’t necessarily need to choose your newest post.
Older content can work extremely well, especially if the information is still accurate and useful.
Good articles for repurposing often contain:
- Lists of helpful tips.
- Step-by-step tutorials.
- Interesting facts.
- Common mistakes.
- Questions and answers.
- Problem-and-solution content.
- Recommendations.
- Educational explanations.
- Checklists.
- How-to information.
For example, an article called “7 WordPress SEO Mistakes to Avoid” could potentially become several Instagram posts.
One post could discuss poorly written titles.
Another could explain internal linking.
Another could focus on image optimization.
You don’t have to squeeze every idea into one piece of content.
Step 2: Identify the Best Idea Inside the Article
Before using AI, decide what you actually want the Instagram post to communicate.
Ask yourself:
What is the most useful thing inside this article?
What would make someone stop and pay attention?
What problem could I help someone solve?
What part of this article can stand on its own?
For example, suppose you have an article containing ten ways to improve WordPress speed.
Instead of asking AI to summarize all ten ideas, you may decide that image compression is the strongest Instagram topic.
That gives your post a clear focus.
Step 3: Use AI to Adapt the Information
Once you’ve selected the information, AI can help transform it into social media content.
In my own workflow, I use the AI Social Content Generator I developed inside My Content Creator Pro Elite.
The idea is not to generate random social media posts that have nothing to do with your website.
Instead, you’re starting with information you’ve already created and asking AI to help adapt it into another format.
That distinction is important.
Your original article provides the subject matter.
AI helps you reshape it.
This can be especially useful if you already have a large content library.
Step 4: Create a Strong Instagram Opening
The opening of your post matters because people are constantly scrolling through social media.
You want to give them a reason to keep reading.
That doesn’t mean using exaggerated clickbait.
You can create curiosity without making unrealistic promises.
For example:
“Your old WordPress blog posts might be hiding more Instagram content than you realize.”
Or:
“I stopped creating every social media post from scratch.”
Or:
“That WordPress article you published six months ago might still have a lot more value left in it.”
Each opening introduces the idea and encourages the reader to continue.
Step 5: Make the Instagram Post Conversational
A blog post and an Instagram caption don’t necessarily need to sound the same.
Long-form articles often include detailed explanations, multiple sections, and a more structured format.
Social media is usually more conversational.
For example, your blog post might say:
“Image optimization is an important component of WordPress performance because unnecessarily large files can increase page weight.”
Your Instagram version could say:
“Uploading huge images to WordPress? Those files could be making your pages heavier than they need to be.”
The underlying information is similar.
The presentation is different.
That’s what you’re trying to accomplish when repurposing content.
Step 6: Review and Personalize the AI Content
Never assume that AI-generated content should automatically be published exactly as written.
Review it.
Make sure the information is accurate.
Check the tone.
Remove awkward wording.
Make sure it actually reflects what you wanted to communicate.
You can also add your own experiences where appropriate.
For example:
“This is one of the things I’ve started doing with my own WordPress content.”
That sounds far more personal than a generic statement produced by AI.
The goal is for AI to help you work faster, not to remove your personality from the content.
Step 7: Pair the Post With the Right Visual
Instagram is a visual platform, so the visual element matters.
The image should support the subject of the post.
Depending on your content, you might use:
- A branded graphic.
- A screenshot.
- An infographic.
- A before-and-after image.
- A product demonstration.
- A carousel containing multiple tips.
- An educational visual.
For example, if you’re discussing five SEO mistakes, you could create a graphic highlighting those mistakes.
If you’re explaining a WordPress feature, you could use a screenshot showing the feature in action.
If you want to take this concept further, I’ve also created a tutorial showing how to turn a WordPress blog post into an infographic with AI.
Step 8: Add a Useful Call to Action
You don’t need to end every Instagram post by trying to sell something.
A call to action can simply encourage conversation.
For example:
“How many old blog posts do you have on your website?”
Or:
“Have you ever repurposed an old article into social media content?”
Or:
“Which one of your articles would you turn into an Instagram post first?”
These questions are directly related to the content and give people something meaningful to respond to.
Can One WordPress Article Become Multiple Instagram Posts?
Yes. One detailed WordPress article can potentially provide ideas for several different Instagram posts.
This is one of my favorite parts of the strategy.
Suppose you published an article called:
10 Ways to Improve Your WordPress SEO
You could potentially create one Instagram post about title tags.
Another about internal links.
Another about image optimization.
Another about content quality.
Another about updating older articles.
Now one article has become several individual pieces of social media content.
That doesn’t mean you should publish ten nearly identical posts in a row.
Spread the ideas out.
Mix them with other subjects.
Change the presentation.
And make sure each post has a reason to exist.
Turn One Blog Post Into Content for Multiple Social Media Platforms
Instagram is only one part of the bigger content repurposing opportunity.
The same original WordPress article can potentially become content for several platforms.
For example:
- Facebook: Turn one idea into a conversational Facebook post.
- Instagram: Create a caption, image, carousel, or visual tip.
- LinkedIn: Adapt the idea into a more professional or business-oriented discussion.
- Pinterest: Turn educational information into a visual Pin or infographic.
- YouTube: Demonstrate the process or explain the topic in a video.
I’ve already created a separate tutorial showing how to turn a WordPress blog post into a Facebook post with AI.
You can also see my broader tutorial on turning WordPress blog posts into social media posts with AI.
The underlying idea is the same.
One article doesn’t have to remain one piece of content.
How My Content Creator Pro Elite Helps With Instagram Content
As the Owner and Developer of My Content Creator Pro Elite, I’ve built content repurposing into the way I think about WordPress content creation.
I’ve spent years creating content for websites.
And one thing becomes very obvious when you’ve published a lot of articles:
You already have a lot of information.
The challenge isn’t always creating something new.
Sometimes the challenge is getting more value from what you’ve already created.
That’s one reason I developed the AI Social Content Generator inside My Content Creator Pro Elite.
It allows me to start with existing WordPress content and use AI to help transform that information into social media content.
My Content Creator Pro Elite also includes tools for AI article creation, autoblogging, bulk content generation, SEO analysis, GEO analysis, internal linking, article rewriting, infographics, images, and other WordPress content workflows.
What I like about that approach is that these features can work together.
You aren’t simply creating another article.
You can create content, optimize it, repurpose it, and continue using the information in different ways.
If you’d like to explore the AI Social Content Generator I’m using in my video, visit My Content Creator Pro Elite.
Should You Copy Your Blog Post Directly Into Instagram?
Usually, I wouldn’t recommend simply copying an entire blog post and pasting it into an Instagram caption.
The two formats serve different purposes.
Your WordPress article gives you room to explain a subject in depth.
Instagram gives you an opportunity to highlight a smaller part of that information in a more immediate and visual format.
A better strategy is to ask:
What is the most interesting idea in this article?
Can I explain it in a few paragraphs?
Could I turn the information into a carousel?
Could one tip become a visual?
Could I use the post to start a conversation?
That’s a much better way to approach repurposing.
Common Mistakes When Turning Blog Posts Into Instagram Posts
Trying to Include Too Much Information
You don’t need to summarize every section of your original article.
Choose one strong idea and focus on it.
Publishing AI Content Without Reviewing It
AI can make mistakes.
It can also produce wording that doesn’t sound like you.
Always review the content before publishing.
Ignoring the Visual
The image, carousel, graphic, or other visual should complement the message.
A strong caption paired with an unrelated image can make the overall post feel disconnected.
Turning Every Post Into a Promotion
People need a reason to follow your content beyond being sold to.
Teach something.
Show something.
Explain something.
Then introduce your product naturally when it fits.
Republishing Outdated Information
If you’re repurposing an older article, make sure the information is still accurate before turning it into new social media content.
Content repurposing works best when the original information is still useful.
Frequently Asked Questions About Turning WordPress Blog Posts Into Instagram Posts With AI
Can AI turn a WordPress blog post into an Instagram post?
Yes. AI can help take information from an existing WordPress article and adapt it into shorter, more conversational content that can be used as the basis for an Instagram post.
Can I create several Instagram posts from one blog article?
Yes. A detailed article may contain several separate ideas, tips, or sections that can each become individual Instagram posts.
Should I copy and paste my entire WordPress article into Instagram?
Usually not. It’s generally better to identify one main idea from the article and adapt it for the platform rather than copying the complete long-form article.
Can I use older WordPress articles for Instagram content?
Yes. Older articles can be excellent sources of social media ideas as long as the information is still accurate and relevant.
Do I still need to review AI-generated Instagram content?
Absolutely. AI can help create a draft, but you should verify the information, improve the wording where necessary, and make sure the finished post sounds like something you would actually say.
Can My Content Creator Pro Elite create social media content from WordPress posts?
My Content Creator Pro Elite includes an AI Social Content Generator designed to help transform existing WordPress content into social media content. In the video included in this tutorial, I demonstrate how I use it with an existing article.
Can the same WordPress article become Facebook and Instagram content?
Yes. The same source article can provide information for several platforms. However, the wording and presentation should be adapted for the audience and format of each platform.
Do I need to create a brand-new image for every Instagram post?
Not necessarily. What matters is that the visual makes sense for the post. You might use a relevant screenshot, infographic, branded image, carousel, or another visual that supports the subject.
Will using AI automatically make my Instagram posts successful?
No. AI can help with the content creation process, but it cannot guarantee engagement, followers, traffic, or sales. The quality of the idea, audience relevance, presentation, and consistency still matter.
Can content repurposing save time?
It can. Starting with existing information means you don’t always have to research an entirely new subject before creating a social media post. You still need to review and adapt the content, but much of the foundational work may already be done.
Final Thoughts: Turn Your WordPress Content Into Instagram Posts With AI
If you’ve been publishing WordPress content for months or years, you may already have an enormous library of potential Instagram ideas.
You don’t always need another topic.
You don’t always need to start from a blank page.
Sometimes the best place to look for your next social media post is your own website.
A 2,500-word article may contain several ideas worth sharing.
A tutorial can become a quick Instagram tip.
A list can become a carousel.
An interesting statistic or fact can become a visual post.
A common question can become an educational caption.
A detailed explanation can become a short social media conversation.
That’s what makes AI content repurposing so useful.
You’re not simply asking AI to create more content for the sake of creating more content.
You’re taking information you’ve already researched and finding new ways to communicate it.
For me, that’s a much more practical way to think about AI.
Your WordPress article doesn’t have to be the end of the content creation process.
It can be the beginning.
One article can potentially become an Instagram post, a Facebook post, a LinkedIn post, a Pinterest infographic, a YouTube video, and several other pieces of content.
