How to Automatically Write Blog Posts in WordPress With AI: Put Your Blog on Autopilot

What if your WordPress blog could continue creating new articles even when you were busy working on something else?

That is exactly what I am showing in this tutorial. Instead of manually choosing a topic, opening an AI writing tool, creating an article, copying it into WordPress, formatting it, adding images, optimizing it, and finally publishing it, I can create an automated AI blogging campaign directly inside WordPress.

Once I set up the campaign, I can tell WordPress what subject I want to cover, which category the content belongs in, how often I want new posts created, how long those articles should be, what writing style and tone to use, and which additional SEO and content features I want enabled.

Then My Content Creator Pro Elite can continue creating articles according to that schedule.

I am the Owner & Developer of My Content Creator Pro Elite, and automated content creation is one of the main reasons I originally built the plugin. I wanted my WordPress websites to keep receiving fresh content without requiring me to manually write every article from beginning to end.

What Does It Mean to Automatically Write Blog Posts With AI?

Automatically writing blog posts with AI means creating a repeatable content workflow instead of manually starting every article from scratch.

You still decide what your website is about and how you want the content created. The difference is that you can configure those instructions ahead of time and let the system continue working from them.

In the video, I demonstrate this with a website about dog training and related dog topics. I create an automated campaign called Dog Diet Plans.

Rather than manually deciding every week that I need another dog diet article, I can tell the system that this is an ongoing topic I want covered.

That is an important distinction.

AI writing by itself saves some time. AI content automation can save even more time because you are automating the repetitive parts of the process.

Step 1: Choose the Topic for Your Automated Blog Campaign

The first step is deciding what subject you want the campaign to cover.

In my demonstration, I use Dog Diet Plans.

You could create campaigns around practically any relevant category on your website, such as:

  • WordPress tutorials
  • Dog training
  • Weight management
  • Home improvement
  • Travel destinations
  • Gardening
  • Online marketing
  • Real estate
  • Technology
  • Recipes

The important thing is to make the campaign specific enough that the articles remain relevant to the audience of your website.

Instead of creating one campaign called something extremely broad like “Everything About Dogs,” you could have individual campaigns for dog nutrition, training, exercise, behavior, health, and other closely related subjects.

That gives your website a stronger topical structure while also giving the AI clearer instructions about what it should create.

Step 2: Choose the WordPress Category

Once I define the campaign topic, I choose the WordPress category where those articles should appear.

In the video, you can see that my example site already contains categories for subjects such as dog diet plans, dog exercise tips, anxiety relief for dogs, puppy behavior management, service dog training, house training, barking solutions, obedience training, and other related topics.

This is useful because the automated content does not have to arrive as one giant unorganized collection of posts.

The articles can be assigned to the correct WordPress category as they are created.

That helps organize the site for both readers and search engines.

Step 3: Decide How Often AI Should Create a New Article

This is where the workflow starts becoming true autoblogging.

I can choose an interval for the campaign.

In my video demonstration, I set the Dog Diet Plans campaign to create content once a week, and I select Monday as the publishing day.

That means I do not have to remember every Monday that I need to write another article about dog diet plans.

The campaign already knows the schedule.

Different campaigns can also have different schedules depending on how much content you want to publish.

You might publish one category once a week while another category receives new content several times during the week.

The goal is not simply to publish as much content as physically possible. The goal is to create a sustainable content schedule that fits your website and gives you consistent coverage of important topics.

Step 4: Choose the Article Length

I also have control over how long I want the AI-generated content to be.

In the example shown in the video, I use a content length of approximately 2,500 words.

That does not mean every article on every website needs to be exactly 2,500 words.

The right length depends on the subject and the search intent.

Some questions can be answered thoroughly in a shorter article. Other topics require much more explanation.

What matters is that I am not locked into a tiny generic AI response. I can configure the type of content I want the campaign to produce.

Step 5: Select the AI Provider, Language, Writing Style and Tone

In the demonstration, I use ChatGPT as the AI provider.

I also select the language, writing style, and writing tone.

For this campaign, the interface shows:

  • Language: English
  • Writing Style: Persuasive
  • Writing Tone: Educational

Those controls matter because not every website should sound identical.

A technical WordPress tutorial may require a different style from a travel article. A professional business website may need a different tone from an entertainment site.

AI is most useful when you can guide it toward the type of content your audience actually expects.

Step 6: Automatically Optimize the Articles for SEO

Writing the article is only part of publishing useful WordPress content.

You also want the article structured in a way that gives search engines a clear understanding of the subject.

In my demonstration, I enable the SEO Optimize option.

I also enable the SEO Meta Generator.

This allows the automated workflow to go beyond simply creating paragraphs of AI text.

The goal is to create content that is ready to become part of a real WordPress website and content strategy.

Of course, no SEO setting guarantees rankings. Search performance still depends on the quality of the content, competition, authority, usefulness, links, search intent, and many other factors.

But if I am automating content creation, I would rather include SEO considerations in that workflow than create articles with no optimization at all.

Step 7: Automatically Add Internal Links

One of my favorite parts of the workflow is internal linking.

In the video, I have Enable Internal Links turned on, with the internal link target set to Smart / Automatic.

That means the system can connect relevant articles together instead of leaving every new post isolated.

Internal linking can help readers discover more of your content, and it can also help search engines understand relationships between pages on your website.

It is the same strategy I use manually in articles like this one.

For example, if you are interested in getting more value from articles after they are published, see my guide on how to repurpose old blog posts into social media content with AI.

I also show how to turn a WordPress blog post into social media posts with AI.

The idea is that one article should not exist in isolation. It can become part of a larger connected content system.

Step 8: Add Images Automatically

Another repetitive part of blogging is finding and inserting images.

In the example campaign shown in my video, I configure the system to place multiple images into the article and use Pixabay as the image source.

The featured image is handled separately from images that appear inside the article.

This is another example of why I think about autoblogging as a complete workflow rather than simply an AI writer.

If AI writes the article but I still have to manually do every other part afterward, I have only automated one piece of the job.

The more repetitive steps I can combine into the WordPress workflow, the more time I can save.

Step 9: Use Google Preferred Sources

In the video, you can also see the Google Preferred Sources option enabled.

This is another example of how My Content Creator Pro Elite has grown beyond simply generating an article.

I want the different parts of the content workflow available in the same WordPress environment instead of requiring a separate tool for every task.

That philosophy is similar to what I showed in Canva Can’t Do THIS Inside WordPress, where I demonstrate creating social posts and images without constantly leaving the WordPress workflow.

Step 10: Schedule the Campaign and Let It Run

After choosing the settings, I schedule the article campaign.

Once a campaign is created, I can see it in the ChatGPT Autoblogging Campaigns area inside WordPress.

In my demonstration, you can see multiple campaigns already running for different categories.

That is where the real power of the system becomes easier to understand.

Imagine that you have ten important categories on your website.

Instead of manually remembering to create content for all ten categories every week, you can create separate automated campaigns and define a schedule for each one.

Your content calendar is no longer entirely dependent on you sitting down and manually starting every article.

What Happens After the Campaign Starts?

The campaign begins creating content based on the instructions you provided.

In the video, I also show an example of a completed article on the website.

It includes a headline, article content, and imagery in a normal published WordPress layout.

That is important because the goal is not merely generating text somewhere in an AI interface.

The goal is getting useful content onto the actual WordPress website.

Why This Can Save So Much Time

Consider the traditional process for publishing one article:

  • Think of a topic
  • Research the idea
  • Write the article
  • Create a title
  • Format the post
  • Optimize it
  • Add internal links
  • Find images
  • Create metadata
  • Choose the category
  • Schedule or publish the article

Now repeat that process dozens of times.

This is why content creation can become overwhelming for website owners.

Automation does not mean you stop caring about quality. It means you stop manually repeating work that software can help you accomplish.

Your Blog Can Keep Working While You Work on Something Else

This is the outcome I care about most.

I do not want to sell people on a list of buttons and settings.

I want a WordPress website that can continue receiving content without requiring me to personally write every single article.

That gives me time to work on other parts of the business.

I can create videos.

I can work on products.

I can improve existing articles.

I can build email campaigns.

I can work on traffic and conversions.

Meanwhile, the automated blogging campaigns can continue following the schedule I already configured.

That is why I like the phrase “my blog writes itself.”

There is still a system behind it. I set up the topics, categories, schedules, settings, and strategy. But I no longer need to manually start every article.

Automatically Create Content — Then Repurpose It

The value of an automated article does not have to stop once the post is published.

After an article exists, I can use that content as the starting point for other marketing material.

I can turn a WordPress article into social posts.

I can create images from it. See how I create social media images from WordPress blog posts with AI.

I can create Pinterest content, Facebook content, Instagram content, LinkedIn content, infographics, and other assets.

That creates a much larger content system:

AI article → WordPress publication → internal links → social content → social images → additional promotion

That is much more powerful than thinking about an AI-generated article as a single isolated piece of content.

Is AI Autoblogging Right for Every Website?

Automation is extremely useful, but it should still be used intelligently.

You should choose topics that make sense for your website and audience.

You should review your output and make sure the information remains accurate.

You should avoid publishing meaningless articles simply because you can generate them quickly.

And topics involving rapidly changing or sensitive information may require more human review than evergreen informational content.

The goal should be to use AI to make a good content strategy easier to execute, not to replace the strategy itself.

Final Thoughts: Put Your WordPress Blog on Autopilot With AI

The biggest benefit of AI autoblogging is not simply that AI can write words.

The real benefit is what happens when those capabilities become part of an automated WordPress workflow.

I can choose the subject.

I can choose the category.

I can determine the publishing schedule.

I can control the content length, language, writing style, tone, SEO options, internal links, and images.

Then I can schedule the campaign and let the system continue doing the repetitive work.

That is the outcome I wanted when I created My Content Creator Pro Elite.

I wanted my websites to continue growing their content libraries even when I was working on other things.
